We have always had issue with the food, both at the resort, and in the area in general, but we loved the changes to this restaurant. This year they are running a new idea for the toiletries and we embraced that. Really you would have to be dead not to have fun here.We always get a hut room, we like that building ( it has its own outdoor swimming pool) and the rooms are quiet and a good size for us. There is something for every taste here and every age. We did enjoy it most likely because sentiment carried us through but it remains to be seen if we will return again. This visit we noticed many changes, and not all for the good. It holds 5 star sentimental value for us. This was not our first trip to this resort. Both were great values and we look forward to going again in the future. Our first time around we purchased a Groupon, the second we jumped on a deal sent from the hotel. We had kids ranging from just three to seven and there was plenty for the younger crowd to have fun. The kids found much to do to keep themselves entertained for three days. There is very easy access for the highway and much to do just around it without needing to go "downtown". The staff from check-in to lifeguards to bartenders were all very kind and accommodating. For being a large resort there was no indication of other guests in the hallways while in the room. Both times we stayed in the Royal African Suite, which is in the main building so the access is very easy to both indoor and outdoor parks. We do strategically plan it for the down time when most families are back into the school year so I can't attest to the crowded in-season. This is the second time in two years that my friend and I chose Kalahari for our getaway with the kids.
